I was really hoping to get my pastoral letter finished yesterday, but it didn’t happen yet. It will, though! In the meantime, I want to make sure you had access to what the schedule looks like for Holy Week, so here is a link to our Holy Week Poster, which you may use as you see fit.
From Dcs. Pamela
We pray for Rachel Winn, mother of two of our academy students (one current student, one graduated student). Rachel is currently hospitalized.
Father of all mercy, you never fail to help those who call on You for help. Give strength and confidence to Your daughter in her time of great need that she may know that You are near and that You uphold her with Your everlasting arms. Grant that, resting on Your protection, she may fear no evil, for You are with her to comfort and deliver her; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. (Pastoral Care Companion)
Welcome our Teachers! Today we added our Academy teachers to the mailing list at Holy Cross, so that they can be kept up to date on what is happening, who we are praying for, and can pray with us during this time of challenges. Welcome, teachers! It is great to have you here.
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)
“Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off, and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”” (John 11:17–27)
Jesus IS the resurrection and the life. He doesn’t contain life. He IS life itself. Faith in Him leads to life, and resurrection, and an eternity of fellowship with Him and all believers in Christ. Martha came to know this by faith. Hear those promises of God for you, and know that they are yours as well.
Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Father, we lift up Katelyn before you this day, asking that You would give her your mercy all the days of her life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, by Your great goodness mercifully look upon Your people that we may be governed and preserved evermore in body and soul; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
