The Harwich Hoody Fest 2012


In this edition it's all about the Harwich Hoody Fest on Saturday 3rd November, 10.30am-5.00pm at the Park Pavillion in Barrack Lane. Read on for info on the bands, the stalls, the prizes and the fantastic young people who organise the festival.

Park Pavillion, Harwich

Local bands and performers will play throughout the day at this free entertainment festival organised by Teen Talk's youth forum, Harwich Inspired Youth Action (HIYA). The festival aims to bring together all generations, friends and family to show that not everyone who wears a hoody is bad to mix with and encourage the community to work together. So come along and don't forget to bring your hoody!

A whole host of local musicians are confirmed to play at this years Harwich Hoody Fest from rock bands, accoustic sets, solo performers and brass bands there is something for everyone. Take a look at the line up so far:

The Harwich Hoody Festival is organised by Harwich Insipred Youth Action (HIYA), a voluntary youth forum of young people aged 11-21 in Harwich and the surrounding areas. Through events and community projects the group aims to change the image of young people in their community. All activities are organised and carried out by the young people themselves, providing the opportunity to gain skills in planning, event organisation, team work and communication. Teen Talk and HIYA are inviting people from Harwich to join them for this years Guy Carnival taking place on Saturday 27th October 2012. For the carnival Teen Talk are asking for members of the community to join them in wearing their hoodys in the spirit of the Hoody Festival which aims to bring together all members of the community to show that not everyone who wears a hoody is bad to mix with.
