Any excuse for fancy dress

Guy Carnival
In October the Youth Forum took part in the Harwich Guy Carnival. The group opted to walk the 3 mile route in fancy dress, going with the theme of opposites so old went with young and chav’s went with toffs etc. The night was well attended by the residents of Harwich and the Forum members had a good time raising money for local charities.

Santa’s Grotto
In December the Youth Forum organised a Santa’s Grotto at Teen Talk’s offices in Cliff Road. The event allowed children to come and visit Santa to put in their Christmas orders and to receive an early present from him. All money raised from the event was donated to a local family who are raising money for their daughter to buy a specially adapted vehicle for her to travel in following a debilitating stroke she had suffered.

Fuse - Dovercourt
Fuse gaming shop in Dovercourt allowed the Youth Forum to use their centre on December 14th to hold their annual Christmas celebration. The Forum had a lot of fun playing the computer games and watching dvd’s in the gaming chairs in the centre. Snacks and presents were exchanged on the day. The event was to thank the Youth Forum for all the hard work they had put in throughout the past year.

COMING UP
The Youth Forum will be in Morrison's Supermarket in February to raise money for this summers Hoody Festival by packing bags for its customers. Any support for this would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulation to HIYA who have won the regional award for best voluntary group with V Involved. They now go through to the national awards in March. Fingers crossed for that.

Big thanks to:

FUSE DOVERCOURT - The Youth Forum had sole use of the Fuse store in Harwich in December. The group really enjoyed using the computer games in the authentic gaming chairs.
