Youth Volunteering Programme
Successfully Underway

On the 1st June 2017, Teen Talk launched its first ever Volunteering Programme for young people aged 18-25. The programme has already seen it's first two rounds of youth volunteers successfully complete interviews, inductions and training.

Volunteers are now supporting the delivery of our Life Skills activities which includes the Summer of Challenges archery session, Bear Grylls style wilderness day and wacky sports.

The volunteers will also have the opportunity to be involved in future activities and events such as our annual awards evening as well as planning their own projects to deliver at Teen Talk.

The volunteering programme was made possible following a one year grant from the Crix Charitable Fund, Yellow Car Charitable Fund and the Essex Millennium Fund, which are administered by Essex Community Foundation.

Teen Talk will be continuing to recruit and train young people to become youth volunteers over the coming months. Find out how you can get involved below.

We would like to say a big thank you for all the hard work and effort of the volunteers so far. Adrian Davis who is leading this project commented 'The youth volunteers have so much enthusiasm for helping young people and we're pleased to be able to offer volunteering opportunities at Teen Talk to help them do this in their community. We cant wait to welcome more young people onto the programme!'
Volunteer Feedback

'My communication skills with young people were developed and I would like to continue volunteering for Teen Talk to develop these further.'

'I learnt and developed skills around communication and team work, and I learnt about ways to help people and I enjoyed meeting new people'.
How to Become a Volunteer
The volunteer programme is an ongoing project at Teen Talk and we are always looking for new young people to get involved.

This programme is for volunteers aged 18-25 years, is free to participate in and travel expenses can be reimbursed. Volunteers will gain skills and knowledge which will benefit not only those interested in youth based work such as teaching, youth work, child minding or
social care, but skills will also be transferable to other areas. We'll even help you find opportunities with other organisations that's just the right fit for you.

Help spread the word by clicking on the poster above to be directed to our website, where you will be able to download a copy and share with other young people.
