 Summer of Success for
Young People in Tendring

It's been a busy summer at Teen Talk where we have seen young people try their hand at a whole range of activities, not only testing their own skills but also offering some great new experiences for the local community. We'd like to thank and congratulate everyone involved in this summer's activity programme and hope you've all enjoyed it as much as we have! Read on to find out about some of the activities that have taken place.
Summer of Challenges
Our first ever summer of challenges has seen young people collecting points during activities including rocket launching, construction and obstacle challenges, that have put their team work, communication and problem solving skills to the test. We're pleased to announce that the overall winner of the challenge was Justin Moore and would like to thank Hughes and Dovercourt Branch Manager, Daryl Cartledge, for the winning prize of a brand new tablet computer.
Animal Encounters Events
Youth members of the Harwich Wildlife Project have organised two animal encounter days over the summer. The events were attended by almost 70 people who got the chance to meet animals including Tate the chameleon, Shenfield the scorpion and the groups mascots, the stick insects. We'd like to congratulate the group on organising such a great activity for the local community. To find out more about their future activities just visit the groups facebook page.
Sailing Aboard the Pioneer
Young people have been able to put their sea legs to the test with a day aboard the restored 1860's boat, the Pioneer. The group got to try their hand at setting sails, steering the boat and trawling for treasure as they sailed the river Colne and the river Blackwater. The group were lucky enough to have some fantastic weather for their one day sailing trip and all said they would love to do it again. We'd like to thank the Pioneer Sailing Trust for inviting us to join them on this exciting adventure.
