HIYA's Crime Campaign
Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence

This crime campaign is the second that HIYA, Teen Talk's youth forum have released and is based on the issue of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence. The group have made a video as part of the Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence awareness week which takes place on the first week of February every year. This year the awareness week is between 6th-12th February and the hashtag for social sharing is #ITSNOTOK.  They hope to raise awareness and encourage people to receive support if they are affected or need advice.

HIYA decided the best way to raise awareness on this issue was with some very surprising and shocking statistics to make people think. They used the biscuits, plates and cups to show that this is a part of everyday life and needs to be openly discussed and understood in order to prevent it from continuing.

Jodie Hall and Sophia Ioannou both support workers at Teen Talk commented: 'We are proud of how the HIYA members continue to tackle such sensitive subjects. This video was planned and produced during one meeting and each member took on different roles from researching facts and support agencies to helping plan and record the video. We are looking forward to further campaigns they will produce.'
