WH Malcolm lodge appeal:
WH Malcolm recently lodged a formal appeal
against the decision by Glasgow City Council to refuse planning permission for the proposed gasification plant in South Street.
Volunteer drop-in information session:
as part of Volunteers Week 2016 we will be hosting a volunteer drop-in information session from 10am to 11.30am on Thu 2 Jun
so if you are interested in volunteering with DRCET and De'ils On Wheels then pop along for a cuppa and a chat!
Bike breakfast for Bike Week 2016:
as part of Bike Week 2016 we will be hosting a couple of bike breakfasts
from 7.30-9.30am on Thu 2 Jun at Balmoral St bridge in Scotstoun and Thu 9 Jun at Balshagray Crescent in Whiteinch
. Pop by for a free cuppa, croissant and Dr Bike check!
We Go Pedal family cycling extarvaganza:
as we reach the end of our We Go Pedal project we are holding a family friendly cycling extravaganza in Victoria Park from midday to 4pm on Sat 18 Jun
- we will have cycle skills, accessible bikes, Dr Bike, bling your bike, and much more - keep an eye on your inbox!

Green Gym in June:
the Green Gym will be meeting at 11am every Wednesday
in June inc Kingsway Community Garden on 22 Jun and the Nature Trail on 29 Jun! Sessions finish at 2pm, tea and coffee are provided.The Green Gym is about healthy people and healthy places, people working together on improving local green spaces around West Glasgow.
Active Seniors Day in the Park 2016:
we will be along at this year's Active Seniors Day in the Park which will take place from 11.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesday 14 June in Victoria Park
. Pop down and say hello!
Play on Pedals summer programme:
as a local hero organisation we are helping to deliver the Play On Pedals summer programme
. There are loads of FREE drop-in sessions happening across the city througout the summer including every other Saturday at Scotstoun leirusre Centre - next session Sat 11 Jun
Dr Bike at Scotstoun Street Play:
Scotstoun Parish Church are hosting a street play session and BBQ on Sat 4 Jun
and De'ils On Wheels very own Dr Bike will be along offering FREE bike checks
. There will also be Street Play session at Knightswood as well.
Partick all set for pedal powered smoothies:
we will be taking the pedal powered smoothies along to the Partick Community Festival on Sat 25 Jun in Mansfield Park
- get yourself along for a great day out!
De'ils On Wheels:
and if you are looking for bike or need your bike serviced then the De'ils On Wheels bike workshop
is open Wednesday 11am to 3pm and Thursday 1-5pm.
And we also accept donations of unwanted bikes!
Environmental Task Force launched: Glasgow City Council recently launched a new Environmental Task Force featuring rapid response teams to be deployed across Glasgow to tackle environmental problems in the city like dumping rubbish, dog fouling and dropping litter.
Drumchapel set to get active: Drumchapel’s first ever parkrun is taking place on Sat 4 June, 9.30am, Garscadden Woods East, Drumore Road, Drumchapel, Glasgow, G15 7LG, and they are asking everyone to promote it (and come along!).
Partick and Thornwood Action Group Picnic and Pick: the group are hosting a Family Picnic & Pick Event on Sat 4 June. They will start off clearing up Mansfield & Dowanhill Park and then we will settle down for a wee feast in Downahill Park.
European Cycling Challenge 2016: there's only a few hours left to take part in the European Cycling Challenge – ECC2016. It takes place from 1 to 31 May 2016. It is a challenge among European cities: the City that “rides” the longest total distance wins!
Police Scotland local priorities campaign: Police Scotland consults with the public every year on what their priorities are for policing in their local community. This year the consultation process is moving online to a digital format and consultation will be open all year so take a few minutes and have your say!
Battlefield takes on dog poo: the Battlefield Community Project has chalked up an innovative way of tackling dog poo over on the South Side!
FirstBus increase fares: from 22 May FirstBus Glasgow has increased it's fares once again with a single increasing from £2 to £2.15 and an all day ticket from £4.30 to £4.50 although travel passes and season tickets are either reduced or frozen.
Green Up Partick and Thornwood Facebook page: a new group set up to encourage more trees and green spaces in Partick and Thornwood has a new Facebook page
Subway closures during July: to complete an important phase of their upgrade program, the Subway will be closed for 4 weeks over the summer from 2 to 30 July. Replacement buses will be in operation
New river crossing for Yoker or Clydebank?: as part of the the new City Deal programme plans for a new river crossing to Renfrew have been in the news recently.
Canadians have come up with a way to calm children down in school
! Just need to get them capturing the energy generated!
