Our projects and services...
De'ils On Wheels rides again:
we are delighted to announce a funding success
- we have been awarded funding from Awards for All Scotland
to re-open the De'ils On Wheels bike workshop, which is fantastic news. We were one of 57 organisations to be awarded funding from the Awards for All Scotland programme. We will be sending out a specific newsletter about De'ils On Wheels in the near future but for the time being you can read more here. Bill Kidd MSP also raised a motion in the Scottish Parliament
in support of our funding success!
Build Your Own Bike training:
and we are also delighted to announce another funding success
- we have received funding from the Glasgow Airport FlightPath Fund
and the Garscadden and Scotstounhill Area Committee
to run Build Your Own Bike training in partnership with some of the local youth projects! This training will also provide the young people with an opportunity to gain an industry recognised award
Community Green Team:
and if that wasn't enough we are even more delighted to announce another funding success
- we recently got confirmation of funding from The Robertson Trust
to develop our Community Green Team over the next 3 years. The Community Green Team will bring together all our volunteering opportunities to be able to offer volunteers a better and more coordinated range of opportunities to help them fulfil their potential whilst helping us to achieve our aims. More details soon!
Kingsway Court community garden:
the lovely creative people at Kingsway Eye film group have produce a great wee film
about the Kingsway Court community garden - you may even recognise one or two faces!!
Social Enterprise Exchange:
back in March we attended the Social Enterprise Exchange
at the SECC. It was a great day and we got to hear from and meet lots of really inspirational people and organisations who are really making a difference in their communities. Many thanks to Glasgow Soclal Enterprise Network
who provided us with a bursary to attend the event.

Action Earth 2013:
this small grants programme
offers funding of up to £250 for communities to protect and enhance the environment for future generations.
Upgrade to the cycle route in Whiteinch:
if you've been down in Primrose Street in Whiteinch recently you will have seen the improvements to the cycle path
to link National Cycle Netowrk Route 7 to Scotstoun Stadium as part of the Commonwealth Games preparations.
Changes to bus fares and routes:
as from Monday 7 April FirstBus Glasgow increased the majority of their fares
. They have also been consulting on major changes
to the bus service for the City which will be called SimpliCITY
and is due to launch on 26 May.
Bike hire scheme proposed for Glasgow:
a £1.3 million bike hire scheme
is to be in place by march next year in time for the Commonwealth Games
National Tree for Scotland:
please take a minute to write to your local MSP
to get them to support a Motion to Parliament
for a National Tree for Scotland.
Government consultation on allotment legislation:
the Scottish Government are undertaking a 6 week consultation
to explore the ways in which the legislation relating to allotments may be amended.
The consultation will close on Friday 24 May.
Heart of Scotstoun walking group:
there is a healthy walking group
that meets twice a week (2.30pm on Mondays and 11.00am on Fridays) for healthy walks leaving from the Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre.
Victoria Park Heritage Walk:
10am on Friday 10 May - details can be found in the Heart of Scotstoun walking group newsletter
National Walking Month:
