Our projects and services...

Dumbarton Road to become a traffic free zone: we hope you liked our April Fool blog it certainly proved popular - we had over 250 hits on the article that day - and quite a few people voicing their support for the idea!

On the ball with DRC Youth Project: we are delighted to announce that De'ils On Wheels is the new sponsor of the DRC Youth Project football teams!! The Yoker and Scotstoun teams play in the Friday Night League and their next game is this Friday - good luck!

Like it? Share it!: we've been making some minro improvements to the website over the past month or so and we've made it easier for you to share articles via a variety of social media. So if you like what you read then check out the share buttons at the end of any article!

Earth Matters: we recently attended the Earth Matters 2014 debate at Glasgow University - you can read the blog from the event here

Transition Free Press newspaper: the next issue is due out at the beginning of May and we are one of the distribution agents for the paper and if you would like to get involved in distributing smaller bundles or just get hold of a real copy then please get in touch.

View from the window: as a result of the ongoing developments of the outdoor space at Heart of Scotstoun the view from our office window has changed significantly in the past few weeks.

Garscadden and Scotstounhill Area Partnership: the most recent meeting of the Area Partnership took place on Tuesday 25 March The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 6 May. Agendas and papers are available on the Council website.

Other news...

Bike Hire Scheme: the NextBike Glasgow bike hire scheme is due to go live in May. If you register as a member before 31 May you can get 50% of the annual membership fee.

Heart of Scotstoun Back Green funding success: congratulations to the the team at Heart of Scotstoun who have been awarded £250,000 to create their Back Green at Scotstoun.

Notice anything new in Scotstoun?: Scotstoun Community Council have recently installed new notice boards throughout the area.

Local Transport Services public meeting: There will be a public meeting about local bus services at 6pm on Thursday 24 April at Knightswood Baptist Church. All welcome!

Air pollution claims over 300 lives every year: a recent report reveals that over 300 people in the city die each year because of air pollution.

City Centre Transport Strategy 2014-2024: the Council are currently seeking your views on the proposed transport strategy for the city centre. The consultation closes on 31 May 2014

Action Earth 2014: the CSV Action Earth small grant scheme 2014 is now open for applications. You can get £250 towards a green project in your area

Govan riverside walkway given green light: derelict land at Water Row in Govan is to be transformed into a riverside walkway after securing £500,000 in funding.

BIG Lottery Your voice, Our Vision: BIG Lottery are undertaking a public conversation with people about what there focus should be over the next five years - have you say now!

River Bus plans for the Clyde: CalMac are considering developing a River Bus service on the Clyde
