African Safari Live
We found this fascinating, and while it doesn’t fit any of our arts genres we think you will  enjoy it as well.   WildEarth’s safariLIVE is an award winning, expert hosted LIVE safari, broadcast directly from the African wilderness into your home.
Available on both the internet and television, this show enables you to interact with an expert game ranger in real time.  Safari vehicles, guides on foot, drones, balloons, rovers and remote cams are all searching for their favorite characters.

Performing arts

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
We know you can’t see the Ailey dancers perform in a theater, so we wanted to make sure you can still find comfort and joy in the beauty of dance by virtually connecting with their performances. For a limited time, Ailey is thrilled to share videos of the Company performing on stage.
May 7–14: Historic 1972 video of Judith Jamison performing Alvin Ailey's Cry
May 14–21: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Robert Battle's Mass

New York Philharmonic Plays On (YouTube)
Karen LeFrak’s “Sleepover at the Museum” follows the story of Mason and his friends on their adventures at the Museum of Natural History. Recorded at our Fun at the Phil concert this past March. Hosted by 16-time Grammy-winning Producer David Foster, and narrated by Jamie Bernstein.

NPR concert listing
We have featured this NPR list of upcoming concerts before but it is worth including again as one of the most complete listings of online cultural events.

Visual Arts

It seems people have found a new way to appreciate great works of art – to recreate them in their own quarantined life.  Here are two museums appreciations of the project, of course they are both in California.

 North Carolina Museum of Art
In a more serious vein the North Carolina Museum of Art has a great series of videos on current and past exhibitions and works in their collection.  Check out their NCMA from Home page.

Literary Arts

We are going to cheat a bit and use the performance of Shakespeare’s plays as our Literary Arts selections.
Shakespeare’s Globe
Shakespeare’s Globe is a world-renowned theatre, education centre, and cultural landmark, located on the bank of the River Thames in London, UK. Whilst their doors are closed, they  are still very much open, online, providing Shakespeare for all.
Love in Isolation To celebrate Shakespeare’s 456th birthday, they invited artists to perform Shakespeare’s words (quotes, sonnets, soliloquies or even stage directions!) from their place of social distancing. We hope these words will inspire and comfort you wherever you are. #LoveInIsolation
The Two Kinsman  How long is forever? When the imprisoned Palamon and Arcite vow eternal friendship, they don’t expect that anything will come between them. But then from their cell window they see the beautiful Emilia, and their priorities take a sudden and violent turn. In this late romance, Fletcher and Shakespeare examine love in all its fluid and complex forms.
Barrie Rutter, recipient of the 2003 Sam Wanamaker Award, directs his first play since stepping down as Artistic Director of Northern Broadsides.
Inspired by the play’s Morris language and references, The Two Noble Kinsmen is set in pastoral ‘Merrie England’ and brought to life with original music composed by acclaimed folk musician Eliza Carthy, and dance choreographed by Ewan Wardrop.

National Theatre Full Play Antony & Cleopatra
The National Theater has another great performance for you  Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and Mark Antony have fallen fiercely in love. In a tragic fight between devotion and duty, obsession becomes a catalyst for war.   Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient, James Bond: Spectre) and Sophie Okonedo (Chimerica, Hotel Rwanda) play Shakespeare’s famous fated couple in his great tragedy of politics, passion and power.

If you want to read along with the performers or just read Shakespeare you can find  his complete works from free download from the Gutenberg project.
The Folger Shakespeare Library  - Shakespeare’s Works section lists each play with illustrations and a history of the work as well as the text.   Worth a visit.
