I'm looking forward to speaking with each and everyone of you as quickly as we can. The time has flown by during the two month's since I started as Ilkley BID's Manager, and I am very happy to have been successful in the application to the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council [CBMDC] for £320,000 of the Additional Restrictions Grant funding. The money has been approved for three major projects to help economic recovery in the town.
The Digital Regeneration of the Discover Ilkley's website;
The introduction of Augmented Reality Trails; and
Improving connectivity by introducing public wi-fi, concentrating first in the AR Trails around the BID area.
The three projects interlink to facilitate better communication about what's happening in the Town and things to do, where customers can find the refreshments they seek for their different needs and tastes, a complete directory of all the BID businesses who wish to partake and the entertaining and exciting trails that are innovative and distinctive to Ilkley.
The best news for businesses through being able to connect in a digital space is the advertising opportunities to promote your business (no additional cost to Levy payers) and making it easier for those looking at the town to find you and see at a glance who you are, why you chose Ilkley to trade in and what you are offering, whether service or product.
The improved analytics will help you realise the increased footfall as people near and far will be attracted to the many AR Trails currently in development. The only limitation of the AR Trails, will be that of our minds.
I am thinking future proofing, the App has room for many more; not only related to children and families, but embracing our heritage and culture, enhancing reasons to come into Ilkley. The website will facilitate social interactions so people can tailor their itinerary list to their needs.
As quickly as I am able to, I plan to secure more funding to place digital signs at key points, fed by the digital website will help people to navigate to where they want to go and find reasons to stay longer.
More on all this in the presentation I have prepared for the up and coming Annual General Meeting.
I hope you will join myself and the BID Board on Tuesday 28th September 17:15 at the Clark Foley Centre for the AGM. Refreshments will be provided after the AGM before the Presentation. Invitations and tickets can be downloaded from Eventbrite - click on this link:
Please continue to the below Promotional request. The projects have to be completed by 31st March 2022, or CBMDC and the Government get a refund. Speed is of the essence at this time, the first App will be ready for mid-October and I wish to start promoting for Christmas, followed swiftly by New Year.
