Thanks for subscribing to Cohabitat Sweetfern Cohousing's newsletter. We'll bring you news about our progress and latest developments as well as insights from other cohousing communities. Look for The Leaf on the second Friday of the month. Send us your thoughts at our email address below.

Latest developments at Sweetfern

  • We have 5 households as Full Members and 2 households as Explorer Members.
  • Regular business meetings are happening bi-weekly online, until we can meet face to face again - and have more of our potluck suppers.
  • Incorporation and site exploration are ongoing processes.
  • Our social events (online) are helping us get to know each other.
  • Our website is almost complete and will be launched soon.
  • We meet new potential members at our Coffee and Cohousing sessions once a month online, until we can meet again, in person.
  • We are learning more about Sociocracy as a way to govern our organization without hierarchy. Find out about sociocracy here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6r3-s2p7eI .

Find out more about us at the Coffee and Cohousing Event below or by contacting us through email (at the bottom of this newsletter) or on Facebook (click on our link below).

Meet some of our members:

Monique and Jim: Monique, a retired library technician, has been a trained yoga instructor since 2008. Married to Jim, with adult children and their families living nearby, she wishes everyone could live in cohousing to benefit from life in an intergenerational community. Jim, a licensed professional engineer with extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing major industrial projects, is currently working part-time as a consultant, while playing part-time hockey, pickle ball and swimming among other outdoor activities. He lives in harmony among vegetarians and likes to fix things --"if they don't find you handsome they should find you handy" -- and is looking forward to creating and living in a thriving neighbourhood!
