Southern Africa Greens Congress
The Southern African Greens Congress was held on the 26th and 27th May in Maputo Mozambique. The same was hosted by Paritido Ecologista In Mozambique. Patrick Sindane from South Africa was re-elected as President.
GYG represented at the Africa Youth Forum
Rose Wachuka, member of the GYG SC from the African region, represented GYG at the just concluded African Youth Forum organised in the framework of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the OAU held from 22nd to 25th May 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Rose made a presentation on Youth Engagement in Addressing Climate Change. She was also part of the young persons who took part in the inter-generational meeting with various Heads of State from the Region. Image impressions of the same can be accessed here
Africa-Europe Youth Platform
The Africa-Europe Youth Platform will take place from 24th to 27th June 2013 in Brussels, Belgium. The same is hosted by the European Youth Forum. GYG as a member of the Network of International Youth Organisations in Africa (NIYOA) was involved in the preliminary discussions and planning meeting towards this forum held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 23rd May 2013.
FYEG General Assembly
The last General Assembly (GA) of the Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) was hold in Mechelen, Belguim from the 17th to the 21st of May. A new EC was elected and the GA adopted a campaign plan and a acivity plan for the next year. In addition to that, the GA agreed on diverse resolutions on Roma people and why we want to strive for a European solidarity instead of a European identity.
Join the bus tours of the German Young Greens' election campaign!
The German Young Greens are campaigning for a political change: On 22nd September 2013 federal elections will be held and we want to take the chance to green the German parliament! The weeks before the elections young activists will be traveling through the country in small buses to do any kind of campaigning activities with the local groups of the Greens and the Young Greens. Austrian Young Greens take a stand against homophobia
On 17th May 2013 Austrian Young Greens implemented actions to stop the discrimination of LGBTQ people (LesbianGayBisexualTranssexualQueer). The motto translates as following: “Love whom you want to love!”. There are many pictures on the website
