News from PACT - July 13th 2015

Welcome to our July 2015 Newsletter.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that if you need to contact us regarding trips, Christmas cards, fundraising events or arranging for someone to attend at a fundraising event (basically anything to do with PACT!) you should contact the office, by ringing 0114 272 4570 or by emailing This will ensure that your message or request is seen and dealt with. 

Update on past events
Charity Ball

We are pleased to announce that we raised over £12,800 at the ball which took place on the 16th May. So, a very big thank you to everyone who donated prizes and helped organise the event and to everyone who came along on the night. This was also a fantastic amount to kick start our fundraising appeal for the new Oncology and Haematology Clinic which was officially launched at the Ball.     

This took place on the 9th July at The Quadrant in Sheffield. Hart Shaw presented our accounts for the last financial year and we are pleased to confirm that donations are up from last year, so PACT are fortunate to be in a very healthy position which will ensure the continuation of our core services for the future. The meeting welcomed some new Trustees and also said goodbye and thank you to our retiring Trustees. 

There was then a presentation on the new clinic and details of some of the plans for the fundraising appeal. It was also confirmed that PACT will be able to make a contribution from it's existing funds to the appeal and this will be announced in September. 

One of the fundraising initiatives just launched is "Play 4 PACT" where the idea is to encourage schools, youth groups, societies etc. to organise an event where people play music, play sports, put on plays or talent shows or anything else under the theme of play to raise money. Fundraising packs will be ready shortly. 

Information & Dates for your Diary
Clinic Appeal

There is full information about the appeal on the PACT website with some artists impressions and an animated walkthrough of the new clinic area together with a link to the JustGiving PACT appeal page. We also now have the leaflets about the appeal in the office so if you would like to take a few to spread the word, please call in and see us. 

There will also be a Fundraising Afternoon Tea Party at PACT House on Sunday 23rd August 2015 from 2 pm to 5 pm. There will be stalls, a Tombola and refreshments and all proceeds will go to the clinic appeal. If you would like to come along and support us please let the office know so that we have an idea of numbers. 

As you can imagine there will be lots of events taking place and initiatives launched to raise money for the appeal so please keep checking our website, Facebook and Twitter for the latest news.

Christmas Cards

Yes they have now arrived and will be on display in the office and on the website shortly. There will also be some of last year's designs available in the office at a reduced price (but these will not be shown on the website). As usual, if anyone would like to take cards on a sale or return basis please contact the office and we can get some ready for you to collect. 

Christmas Party and Bowling

This is a reminder that the party will be on Sunday 6th December between 11am and 3pm at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. The party will be for children aged 11 and below and the bowling trip will be offered to children who are 12 and above. Full details of both events and booking forms will be in our October newsletter. 

Charity Ball 2016

The ball next year will be on Saturday 21st May at Baldwin's Omega in Sheffield. Ticket prices will be £45 each and will include a welcome drink, a five course meal, entertainment and a disco. Again the proceeds from the night will be going towards the new clinic appeal and so do come along and support us and the project. Bookings will be taken for tickets from January 2016 and the booking form will be available to download from the PACT website or can be posted out to you if you contact the office. We look forward to seeing lots of you there.  

Annual trip to Drayton Manor

The trip is on Sunday 6th September and we are going to Drayton Manor

If you wish to go on the trip please complete the Disclaimer letter which is the booking form (you can also download a copy of the booking from from the Downloads page on the PACT website). Then return the form to the PACT office with a deposit of £5 per person which will be refunded on the day (we will accept cash or cheques for the deposits). Please make sure that you complete the form with the names of the adults and children going and the age that the children will be on the day of the trip. You do not need to pay a deposit for any children who will be aged under 2 on the day of the trip but you must put them down on the form.  

Please let us have the completed form and deposits in the office before the 14th August as we need to let Drayton Manor have final figures and payment in time for us to send out the tickets. As usual, families can either make their own way there or go on the coaches from the hospital. Please let us know on the form if you wish to go on the coaches so that we can ensure there are enough seats. 

Please note that unless we receive your booking form and deposits in the office by the 14th August we cannot guarantee that you will be able to come on the trip.
