Welcome to the latest issue of the PACT Newsletter.
We would like to inform all PACT members that a resolution has been put forward to amend the Constitution of the Charity to clarify how PACT operates although this will not change who the Charity supports. This resolution will be voted on at the AGM in July and full details of the existing Constitution and the proposed new one are available to view on the PACT website
and also in the PACT Office which is open Monday to Friday between 9 am and 3.30 pm. If you have any questions regarding this amendment or wish to register any objections to it, please contact the PACT Office
before the 27th June or come along to the AGM.
PACT Annual General Meeting
The AGM is open to all PACT members and will be held on Thursday 3rd July 2014 at 6.30 pm at The Quadrant, 99 Parkway Avenue, Sheffield, S9 4WG where parking is available. There is a map on The Quadrant website
but if you need any help please do not hesitate to contact the PACT Office. If you wish to attend the AGM could you please let us know in the PACT Office
by email or phone by the 27th June as we need to inform the venue of the numbers before the night.
At the AGM the annual accounts are presented and explained, there is information on what PACT has done over the past year and what it plans to do this year and there will be the vote on the resolution to amend the Constitution. The meeting is quite informal and refreshments are supplied too!
If anyone is interested in joining the main committee and becoming a PACT Trustee, please contact the PACT Office
for more information and a nomination form. Meetings take place approximately every two months at The Quadrant and are very informal. Any nomination forms should be returned to the office by the 27th June and should there be more nominations than places available on the committee, a vote will take place at the AGM.
Update on past events
Pets Corner – Although the weather wasn't as nice as we had hoped for, it didn't stop people enjoying themselves. Sundown Adventureland proves to be a popular trip each year and we are grateful to them for giving us reduced entrance fees. Thank you also to Joan Goodman for providing the lunches.
We wanted to say a big "Thank You" to everyone who helped with our charity ball this year and to everyone who came along on the night to celebrate the work of PACT and to help us raise funds for the future. As usual, Baldwins provided us with a great venue and food and the entertainment from jazz and swing singer Andy Ellison was fantastic. It was lovely to see so many people there all having a good time and dancing the night away. We are still collecting in the monies but we think we have made in excess of £5,000 which is great. Next year will be our tenth ball and we hope to see even more of you there, it will be on Saturday 16th May 2015
Information and dates for your Diary
Remembering Day for bereaved families will be held on Sunday 29th June. Please contact the CLIC Sargent Social Workers on 0114 271 7406
for further details.
Extra trips and treats
PACT will hopefully be getting some gift cards to be used at cinemas and venues such as Aston Butterfly Farm, The Deep etc. Full details will be provided in our next newsletter when we will let you know what gift cards are available. You will then be able to put your name down for the treat you would prefer and names will be drawn out of a hat. To make it fair for everyone we will only allow one "gift card" treat per family per year. If you have any suggestions for places you would like to go, please let the PACT office know
as soon as possible.
This year we are planning to visit Alton Towers
on Sunday 7th September
. Full details and a booking form will be sent out with our next newsletter in July. We would remind families that for this trip we must have the signed booking form and deposits in the PACT Office before we can put your names down for the trip.
This will take place on Sunday 7th December
between 11am and 3pm in the 1897 Suite at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. The party is for children up to the age of 12 and their families and children and siblings over the age of 12 will be able to go on the bowling night. Full details of the party and bowling will be in our October newsletter.
