News from PACT - July 2014
Welcome to the PACT July 2014 Newsletter.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that if you need to contact us regarding trips, Christmas cards, fundraising events or arranging for someone to attend at a fundraising event (basically anything to do with PACT!) you should contact the office in person, by ringing 0114 272 4570 or by emailing pact@sch.nhs.uk. This will ensure that your message or request is seen and dealt with.
 
Update on past events
Charity Ball
We are pleased to announce that we raised £8,000 at the ball which took place on the 17th May. So a very big thank you to everyone who donated prizes and helped organise the event and to everyone who came along on the night. Please see below for details of next year's ball.   
 
AGM
This took place on the 3rd July at The Quadrant in Sheffield. Hart Shaw presented our accounts for the last financial year and we are pleased to confirm that although donations are down slightly from last year we are still doing well and so are able to provide the same level of service as before. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way this year. Our plans for the next year were discussed and these include replacing the caravan at Berwick, painting the outside of PACT House and also refurbishing the playroom there. The resolution to amend the Constitution of the charity was also voted on and passed so we will now arrange to lodge this with the Charity Commission. 
 
Information and Dates for your Diary
Collecting Tins
We should be grateful if everyone could check to see if they still have any of our collecting tins which are not in use. If you have got one of our tins and it is no longer needed or if it is full, could you please return it to the office as soon as possible. Also, if you have got one of our banners could you please let us know and arrange to let us have it back once your event is over.  
 
Cineworld gift cards available
If you are interested in one of the £20 gift cards, please contact the office before the 1st August 2014 and your name will be added to the list. Please note that you must contact the office directly to ensure that your name is put on the list. On the 1st August we will draw names out of a hat and then contact the families concerned.  
 
Christmas Party and Bowling
This is a reminder that the party will be on Sunday 7th December between 11am and 3pm at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. The party will be for children aged 11 and below and the bowling trip will be offered to children who are 12 and above. Full details of both events and booking forms will be in our October newsletter.
 
Christmas Cards
It wouldn't be summer if we weren't letting you know that the new Christmas Cards will be with us soon. As before, we are happy for people to take cards on a sale or return basis, please contact the office if you wish to do this. We also have some of the cards left from previous years and these are being sold at the bargain price of £1.50 a pack or two packs for £2.  The cards will be available to buy in the office and to view on the website from the 1st September. Nearer Christmas we will also be stocking paper, tags, diaries etc.
 
Charity Ball 2015
Next year is our 10th Charity Ball, we cannot believe how time has flown! We have already booked the date and venue and so it will take place on Saturday 16th May at Baldwin's Omega in Sheffield. Ticket prices will remain at £45 each which is great value for a welcome drink, a five course meal, entertainment and a disco. The entertainment will be Laurel and Hardy and comedian Lea Roberts so it will definitely be a fun packed night and we would love to see as many people there as possible to make it a real night to remember.
 
We are already starting to sell tickets/tables so if you would like to come please contact the office for a booking form or download the form from the PACT website. As usual, bookings can only be confirmed once the booking form and deposits/full price have been received by the office. We look forward to seeing you there.  
 
Annual trip to Alton Towers
The trip is on Sunday 7th September and we are going to Alton Towers.
 
If you wish to go on the trip please complete the Disclaimer letter which is the booking form (you can also download the form from the PACT website). Then return the form to the PACT office with a deposit of £5 per person which will be refunded on the day (we will accept cash or cheques for the deposits). Please make sure that you complete the form with the names of the adults and children going and the age that the children will be on the day of the trip. You do not need to pay a deposit for any children who will be aged under 4 on the day of the trip but you must put them down on the form. 
 
Please let us have the completed form and deposits in the office before the 14th August as we need to let Alton Towers have final figures and payment in time for us to send out the tickets. As usual, families can either make their own way there or go on the coaches from the hospital. Please let us know on the form if you wish to go on the coaches so that we can ensure there are enough seats.
 
Please note that unless we receive your booking form and deposits in the office by the 14th August we cannot guarantee that you will be able to come on the trip.
