Welcome to the July 2013 PACT newsletter
The 2013 PACT Charity Ball
took place on Saturday 13th April and we raised over £6,000 which is fantastic. Many thanks to all who attended and supported this event. We have booked the date for next years Charity Ball which is 17th May 2014
and also we have managed to secure a fantastic entertainer for the evening, - Mr Paul Pashley. Check out his website www.paulpashley.com
. Make a note in your diary as this is one you will not want to miss !
Gardeners at PACT House
– The new volunteer gardeners group had their first meeting on Saturday June 8th and what fantastic work they achieved. If you can spare some time once a month to help them, please contact the PACT Office
and we will liaise with Mark who organises this.
PACT Trips and Treats –
As you know, PACT was set up to support the families of children being treated at Sheffield Children's Hospital. While we are more than happy to continue offering support to families when they have moved on from the Sheffield Childrens Hospital, when the children become adults we obviously cannot include them on all the trips and treats due to sheer volume of numbers and the fact that we only allow 2 adults per family . We do hope you understand our position with regard to this but if you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact the PACT Office
– Due to the increased numbers of families on our database and restrictions on numbers at our new venue, this year's party will be for children aged up to 12 and for the older children we will organise a bowling trip. We are aware that there are some circumstances when the party will still be appropriate for children aged over 12 and so exceptions can be made. The party is booked for Sunday 1st December
from 11 am to 3 pm at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and the date for the bowling is still to be confirmed. Full details of both events and booking forms will be in our next newsletter.
- The PACT printed cards should be with us by August, though we don't have a definite delivery date yet. If you are interested in buying some or you wish to sell cards for us amongst your family and friends, please contact the PACT Office
. We will also be selling previous years designs at a reduced rate.
This year our annual day out is on Sunday 1st September
and we are going to Drayton Manor. We have been given a good deal on tickets but to take full advantage of this, we do need extra information from you on the booking form and so need you to complete the names of the adults and children going and the ages of all the children. If you wish to go on the trip please fill in the Disclaimer letter which is the booking form and return it to the PACT office with a deposit of £5 per person which will be refunded on the day. Full details of the trip and the booking form are on the PACT website
. A deposit for any children who will be under the age of 4 on the day of the trip is not required. Please let us have the form and deposits before the 9th August
as we need to let Drayton Manor have final figures and payment in time for us to send out the tickets. As usual, families can either make their own way there or go on the coaches from the hospital. Please let us know on the form if you wish to go on the coaches so that we can ensure there are enough seats.
If you can't access the PACT website to download the booking form then please contact the PACT Office
and we will gladly arrange for one to be picked up or posted out to your home address. Please note that unless we receive your booking form and deposits in the office by the 9th August
we cannot guarantee that you will be able to come on the trip.
If you want to tell everyone about how you support PACT on our website or in this newsletter then please contact the PACT Office
and we will endeavour to accommodate your news. We have over 300 Friends on Facebook now so that is a great way to keep up to date with PACT news too so please look for PACT Sheffield on Facebook and join us there. We are also on Twitter as 'pactsheffield' and you can see links to both Facebook and Twitter at the end of this email.
Have a great summer !!
