Dear <<First Name>>
Welcome to our May 2015 newsletter.
We have just launched an appeal to raise funds for a new Oncology and Haematology clinic at Sheffield Children's Hospital. This clinic will be next to Ward M3 and will have all the existing clinic facilities as well as a new treatment suite and an improved waiting area for families.
Once completed, hopefully in 2017, the clinic will be known as the "PACT Children's Centre for Oncology and Haematology" and we are sure it will make a big difference to all the families that use it.
The appeal has a target of £670,000 and over the next two years PACT will be working hard to raise this money. The appeal was officially launched at our Charity Ball on the 16th May and there will also be a presentation about the project at the AGM together with the opportunity for people to see the proposed plans and to ask questions.
You can find out more about the PACT appeal on the appeal page on the PACT website.
PACT Annual General Meeting
The AGM is open to all PACT members and will be held on Thursday 9th July 2015 at 6.30 pm at The Quadrant, 99 Parkway Avenue, Sheffield, S9 4WG where parking is available.
If you wish to attend the AGM could you please let the PACT Office know by the 26th June as we need to inform the venue of the numbers before the night.
At the AGM the annual accounts are presented and explained, the Trustees are voted in and there will be the presentation about the new appeal. The meeting is quite informal and refreshments are supplied too.
If anyone is interested in becoming a Trustee, please contact the PACT Office for more information and a nomination form. Meetings take place approximately every two months at The Quadrant and are very informal. Any nomination forms should be returned to the office by the 26th June and should there be more nominations than places available on the committee, a vote will take place at the AGM.
Update on past events
Open Garden Event
Although the garden was only open one day this year, over £500 was raised. We would like to say a big thank you to Chris and Keith for opening their garden for us, to everyone who provided the delicious home baking, to all our helpers on the day and of course to everyone who came along to support the event.
What a great time we had, over 230 people joined us for a night of magic, comedy, good food and music and really helped us celebrate the 10th Annual PACT Ball in style. We also launched the appeal for the new Oncology and Haematology clinic on the night and so the proceeds from the ball will be used to start this fundraising appeal. At the moment we are still collecting in monies and don't have a final figure, but it looks like we have raised over £12,000 which is fantastic. We would therefore like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with the event and to all those who came along on the night.
Information and dates for your Diary
This will take place on Saturday 5th September and full details and a booking form will be sent out with the next newsletter in July. We would also remind families that for this trip we must have the signed booking forms and deposits in the office before we can guarantee your places, so we cannot accept facebook and email messages.
This will take place on Sunday 6th December between 11am and 3pm in the 1897 Suite at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
