These are certainly extraordinary times and circumstances for International Education professionals and our community colleges. We are all learning new ways to teach, outreach, and support our students as well as our future international programming. Now, more than every it is important to bring together our colleagues from around the state to discuss responses to COVID-19, impacts on international students, study abroad, and internationalization efforts. CCIE is creating two working groups to share how we can move forward and advocate for international education in the months and year ahead.
It is important for CCIE members to help support one another in advocating for international education in the future. Please make sure that you put CCIE membership in your 2020-2021 budget and submit your dues.
CCIE is hosting two working groups to focus on advocacy and overall support for our colleges. The first will focus on issues related to international students and the second to issues related to education abroad. The Education Abroad Working Group will be meeting virtually on August 12.If you are interested in serving on these groups, Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or to email@example.com
All institutional grant and student scholarships are funded directly from dues that have been submitted.

NOVVA-FPPEDU Virtual Transfer Fair
Because of travel and budgetary restrictions many community colleges are looking for a virtual solution that will replace their in-person fall transfer fairs. Our company, NOVVA, has a reliable virtual meeting platform that we are successfully using to help colleges and universities recruit international students through our virtual fairs. We are offering to use this same platform to assist community colleges with their Transfer Fairs this fall.

The Virtual Transfer Fair would be complementary to community colleges. NOVVA will create a page for community colleges to promote the Virtual Transfer Fair to their students. This page will be customized to your community college with your logo. It will also include information on all the universities that are attending so that your students can research their options before the event. The community college will inform all their university partners to click on a link we will provide so they can register to attend as well. Then we will take it from there by assisting your partner schools with building their virtual booths and preparing for the event online.
Opportunity for Community Colleges to Host a Free Virtual Fair

We think this is a great opportunity for us to play a role in helping students meet counselors at their aspirational schools and serve community colleges who seek to continue to maintain strong relationships with the universities they articulate with.
