Monday, October 7, 2019:
Board Invitational Show to be installed at Sage Restaurant, 150 Bridge Street, in Phoenixville, PA. An invite to exhibit will be sent out in a few days, and the first 35 folks responding will be included. The exhibit will run from Monday, Oct. 7 to Monday, Feb. 3, 2020. The restaurant is closed on Mondays so the owner requested we install and remove on Mondays. Sage Restaurant will retain 25% commission on any sold paintings. This is a Mediterranean themed restaurant, so the owner would prefer paintings that reflect the theme, such as landscapes and florals, and darker frames would display nicely on the beige walls. This may become a permanent venue if both parties are happy with the process and the exhibit.
Wednesday, October, 16, 2019:
Our first general membership meeting of the season will be featuring Lisa Budd, Creative Techniques with Watercolor and Yupo, from 1 – 3 PM at Paoli Presbyterian Church. Jury date for Penn Med at Valley Forge Winter Show.
Monday, October 21, 2019
: The workshop with Lisa Budd , 9 – 3 pm at Paoli Presbyterian Church.
At the November meeting, we will have a jury process for Bryn Mawr, Bodine Lobby Exhibit, Jan. 4 – Apr. 25, limited to 40 paintings (included in handbook). Bryn Mawr will retain 20% commission on sold paintings. We will also be jurying for our new permanent venue, Penn Med at Bala Cynwyd!! This will replace Penn Med at Radnor for a permanent venue and the jury process and dates of the exhibit will follow that of Penn Med at Radnor. Information regarding this will be included in a separate communication in your handbook packet since plans were finalized post publication.
I’m very excited about these new opportunities for DVAL and our talented artists. I look forward to seeing you soon and keep on painting!
