Are you a prospective homeowner and ready to purchase or redevelop a home? If so, the Cook County Land Bank Authority, in conjunction with U.S. Bank and the Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GACDC), is excited to announce the launch of our initial homebuyer program!
Through the Greater Auburn-Gresham Community Development Corporation (GACDC), the Cook County Land Bank is offering a number of homes in Auburn-Gresham that will be eligible for homeownership through a purchase & rehab product developed by U.S. Bank.
To kick off the program, a "Connecting You to Your Dreams" housing trolley tour will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2016 from 9 AM - 1 PM at the AFC Center located on 7859 S Ashland Ave. We will be providing a full breakfast and then boarding several trolleys to tour CCLBA properties currently available for purchase and rehab. The Cook County Land Bank Board of Directors convene on a quarterly basis to discuss general activities, operations, and policies of the Land Bank. A complete agenda as well as confirmation of the meeting time will be made public 2-3 days before the date of the meeting, and can be found here.

Kicking off our Home Buyer Program, the Cook County Land Bank, U.S. Bank, and Greater Auburn-Gresham Community Development Corporation will be conducting a trolley tour of Land Bank homes on Saturday, June 25th, 2016 from 9 AM - 1 PM. GENERAL REHAB GUIDELINES
The following includes important guidelines and procedures that the CCLBA would like every prospective homeowner and developer to know who wishes to do business with the Land Bank.
- Properties must be professionally redeveloped within 12 months of sale in accordance with local municipal building codes and procedures. Rehab process will be supported with periodic monitoring in order to ensure compliance. Quality of craftsmanship will will impact future transactions.
- CCLBA places a soft mortgage on the property to prevent selling without redevelopment. This mortgage will be released prior to the sale to homeowner provided the rehab has been completed.
- CCLBA does not provide financing for the purchase or rehab; however, CCLBA can make a referral to resources that will provide technical assistance & financing.
