If I could speak all languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging symbol. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing, If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it, but if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing.
I Corinthians 13:1-3

Prayer Requests
  • Praise God that I am quite settled and comfortable in my home.
  • Praise God for the progress I have made in language learning. I am now in Phase 2. Please Pray for my language helper who is struggling with this phase, especially with identifying pictures and telling stories. I also started working with a second language helper this week.
  • Pray for my mind to understand what I am hearing. This is a very complicated langauge and the verbs tend to keep changing all the time.
  • Praise God for a few people in the village that are friendly and are making efforts to help me learn the language by correcting me when I say things wrong or asking me questions. I am also very grateful for those who are showing an interest in wanting to build a friendship.
  • Pray about our goal of doing the chronological teaching in January 2021.
  • Pray for Jakob who is working on developing the Bible lessons for the teaching. Some days can be very challenging for him. Praise God for the completed lessons. Pray for his helpers, that they would be consistent in coming everyday and that they would be alert and responsive.
  • Pray for Lina who is working on Bible Translation. Some days can also be challenging for her in figuring out how to communicate clearly while remaining faithful to the Biblical text.
  • Pray for our co-workers Alessandro and Chantal and their two children who returned to Canada at the beginning of April. Pray that the Lord meets all their needs as a family. Remember the rest of us as we adjust to being smaller in number.
  • Pray for the volunteers of Jakob and Lina. Their volunteers came to our village to help homeschool their two children. They have now finished with the schooling, however, they are unable to leave at present because the airports are closed in both Senegal and Guinea. Pray that God provides a way for them to return to Germany and that they do not become discouraged.
  • Pray for us as we have not left the village in a few months and do not see a possibility of being able to do so for another few months since there are restrictions for travelling to other regions. The borders between Senegal and Guinea are also closed.
  • Pray that our supplies will last until we are able to leave the village. We have been able to use the supplies that our co-workers left behind and get a few things from our Tuesday market.
  • Pray that we all survive the heat. The weather is not only very hot (43 degrees Celcius) but it is also very humid.
  • Pray for our health and that the virus does not come to the village since there is very little health care available here.
  • Pray that the Lord gives us daily strength to keep pushing forward and trusting him through it all. Pray that we will continue to willingly make these sacrifices for the glory of God and the salvation of the Konyagi people.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support.
