Message to members of the APS Division of Materials Physics
Approved by Robert Nemanich, DMP Secretary/Treasurer

This email presents an announcement of a workshop of potential interest to some in DMP. The goal of the workshop is to provide faculty who have just received their first award or who are attempting to obtain funding from the NSF Condensed Matter Physics program with valuable information and advice on the policies, procedures, and opportunities available at the National Science Foundation.

The NSF Condensed Matter Physics Principal Investigators Workshop will be held at the Ballston Hilton in Arlington VA adjacent to the NSF headquarters on June 1 and 2, 2015. Sessions will begin June 1st at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude June 2nd at 2:00 p.m.

Registration and a welcome reception will be held during the evening of May 31st. Further information and registration information are available on the conference website.

There is a registration fee for the workshop but all local expenses and partial support for travel will be provided. Attendance is open to all but preference will be given to participants in areas supported by the Condensed Matter Physics Program. For fullest consideration, the Pre-registration/Application should be completed before Friday, April 17, 2015.

Please pass this message along to any of your colleagues that might benefit from attending.
