New book launched at STDF Policy Committee:
“Driving safe trade solutions worldwide”

STDF’s latest Policy Committee on 23 February brought together high-level representatives of partners (FAO, OIE, World Bank Group, WHO and WTO) and donors at OIE’s headquarters. The Committee sets the strategic direction, taking stock of the results and reach of the STDF.

STDF has a strong results focus across its operations and the Policy Committee approved the next steps for an external Evaluation of the STDF, which is due to start in September 2018.

A new STDF book was launched at the Committee with 25 results stories showing how projects are supporting small-scale farmers, processors, traders and governments to access global markets. Since 2004, STDF’s 85 projects have made an impact, most of them in the poorest countries, with over US$25 million mobilized from other sources to take forward innovative models and scale-up results.

Developing countries continue to request assistance and STDF welcomes donor support to promote sustainable, inclusive trade in support of the UN’s 2030 development agenda. At the Committee, Norway and the Netherlands announced new STDF multi-year contributions.
