The Missouri River is legendary even by Montana standards. With trout averaging 18 inches and fish counts regularly exceeding 6,000 per mile in the river’s upper reaches below Holter Dam, it’s easy to see why the Missouri is considered one of the greatest fisheries in the Western United States.
 

We’d like to first give a huge thank you to all of the fire crews, first responders and volunteers who's quick action and endless effort stopped the Rock Creek fire last week which almost went directly through the Ranch. We are thankful we were able to get the guests and all of our staff to a safe location and hope everyone else dealing with the same situation was as lucky as us. The fire is roughly 95% contained and expected to be 100% today or tomorrow. 

The Albertsons grocery store on Montana Avenue in Helena will be collecting supplies for fire teams working to fight the fire. Items needed include water, electrolyte drinks, high protein snacks without chocolate, beef jerky, granola bars, foot powder, and wipes, and cash and gift card donations will also be accepted.

Peak season is in full swing. Our guests are finding early starts and early finishes to the day bring the most success with flows around 3k and water temperatures between 63 - 64 degrees. Caddi's and PMDs all around.
