Another information packed edition of Shipmate News this week and heading up this edition, some timely advice about antifouling – separating fact from fiction.
David Harvey, Australian & NZ Marine Manager of PPG Protective & Marine Coatings, takes us through a Q&A of all you need to know about the ‘black art’ (well mostly black) of antifouling your boat.
But as usual, that’s just the start. Airlie Beach is well and truly gearing up for some serious fun in November with the Airlie Beach Festival of Music and Abell Point Marina have put together a fabulous package for boaters across the whole month. The package includes a full calendar of boating and social events, discounts on berthing, food and entertainment and of course, the promise of warm sunshine, beautiful sunsets and amazing beaches.
Another interesting note from Fusion Entertainment announcing that their Stereoactive' purpose-built floating portable watersports stereo was selected as the 'Coolest Product of the Show' at the 2016 Global Paddlesport Trade Show – PADDLE Expo.
And my, how time flys, here we are already talking about 2017, with the Australian Marine Export and Superyacht Industry Conference (ASMEX) announcing that ASMEX 2017 will return to Sanctuary Cove for its 7th edition, partnered by the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
And, speaking of shows, an article below about the Riviera Festival of Boating which has been formally acknowledged for excellence as Queensland’s Best Corporate Event for 2016. And while we’re on the subject of festivals, entries are open and dates announced for the 2017 Festival of Sails and Grand Prix, to be held in Geelong (Vic) in January next year.
Coming up later this month is ‘Discover Boating Week’ and Australia’s first ever ‘Gone fishing Day’ and you’ll find details on those below, as well as the usual raft of new and improved boats, new facilities and other marine news and events from around the country.
Finally, just a quick final reminder for those businesses with a free listing in Shipmate Marine Directory; please visit the website at www.shipmate.com.au and check your listing.
