I’ve just spent the last few days up and around the Gold and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Harry Davis and I have been on a road trip, we’ve spent long days doing the rounds visiting marinas, shipyards, boat sales outlets, chandleries marine organisations and other marine businesses, all the way from Tweed Heads to Mooloolaba.
We’ve been distributing the all-new, 2017 – 2018, SEQ Shipmate Marine Directory – The latest annual print edition. A 136 page pocket wonder, chock full of information including a complete A-Z of marine trades and services, detailed info on marinas and shipyards, marine orgs, tide tables and more.
10,000 copies of Shipmate are being distributed free, so make sure you ask for your free copy at any of the abovementioned marinas, shipyards, boat sales outlets, chandleries, marine businesses etc. If you have any problems getting hold of a copy, make sure you let us know at email@example.com
While doing our rounds, called in to Sanctuary Cove to drop off copies and to check out the progress on preparations for SCIBS. With just less than two weeks to go, the 29th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show site was a hive of activity and looking like it’s almost ready to launch.
They tell us they’ve had an increased response from exhibitors across all areas, and with more than 40,000 visitors expected across the four days, SCIBS 2017 is shaping up to be an outstanding success. On the water, there’s more boats and the streets are full with an array of trailer boats, jet skis, SUP’s, engines and everything else in between.
There’s more Pavilion space and the organisers have indicated they’re now nearing maximum capacity, however, we hear that if you’re a potential exhibitor, and you’re really quick, you might just be able to secure one of the last remaining spots.
In this edition of shipmate News, we’ve another wrap-up of what’s happening in the marine world from right around the country, but before you scroll down, just wanted to mention we’ve added a new video segment to the Shipmate website. We’re in the process of populating the Shipmate TV section with a series of informative videos so please make sure you visit www.shipmate.com.au soon and check it out.
That’s it from me again for a couple of weeks, In the meantime, I’m heading up to the Gold Coast again next week to check out the ASMEX conference, followed by the Sanctuary Cove Show, if you see me there, make sure you stop and say hi.
Cheers, see you out on the water
