15 February 2017

Aagh yes! If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a thousand times, the question I’m sure anyone who’s ever had a boat has been asked; what’s the two best days of a boaters life? Well if you’re a fair dinkum boater the answer is simple. The two best days, without doubt, are Saturday and Sunday!

Can’t wait for those weekends to come around, head to the boat and get out on the water, all the work politics, drama and issues, just somehow melt away and it’s just you and the elements, doesn’t hurt to have some good company on board as well of course.

And last weekend we did just that, took our cruiser Blue Tango across the bay to Portarlington about 20nm from our home port of Williamstown. Took the opportunity to check out progress on the new safe harbour while we were there, which is really coming along. Had a great time, doing… Well, very little actually, met some friends, rafted up, had a bbq and a few drinks; good food, good company, a great evening and then overnight on anchor. Bit of a bumpy ride home the next day with a 20kn Sou’westerly, but then, that’s boating… Can’t wait for next weekend.

Now to this edition and plenty of news as usual and something for everyone from right around the country. Whatever your interest, be it power, sail, fishing, cruising, the marine industry, we’ve got something on everything, so sit back, browse through and enjoy the read.

Cheers, see you out on the water
