Welcome back to the brew!

Here's a little sip of general advice from most property management attorneys that we thought we'd share to kick the week off. Happy dancing, and happy emailing :)

Now, to the brief:
  • Registration is open for our upcoming session on the "Amazon Approach to Maintenance": How to build your maintenance operations to be as easy as Amazon.
  • White Paper: A look at a few case studies from implementing HVAC monitoring IOT with Point Central
  • A recommended reading list for you and your team.
THE AMAZON APPROACH TO MAINTENANCE

A big topic of conversation at the recent PM Leadership X Change was building your systems to be as "easy as Amazon".

Both our cofounder and COO, Will Gordon, and our operations director, Jennifer Pascon, previously worked at Amazon before building Latchel. Will pulled a lot of the operational concepts he learned in his time there into the maintenance sector of property management. So, Latchel was built to make maintenance as easy as Amazon. Our leadership principles are even pulled from Amazon as well.

So next week, we're holding a live learning session to go over how exactly we pulled some of those operational concepts into the maintenance sector of property management, and how you can do that too with a focus on SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

RECOMMENDED READS FOR YOU AND YOUR TEAM

Great leadership comes from great reader...ship. (new word). When we onboard new team members we give them an employee handbook with some recommended reads.

They've been a hit in our employee handbook so we wanted to share a few of those here:

Antifragile
by Nassim Nicholas Taleb

This one explores building systems that are strengthened by shocks and disruption. It teaches you how to build your systems to be "anti-fragile".

Mindset
by Carol S Dweck

This book explores the growth vs. fixed mindset and the difference that can make in an individual's success and development.

Social Physics
by Alex Pentland

Alex Pentland is a data scientist who uses big data analytics to understand the science of human interaction. This book heavily informs Latchel’s decisions on how to structure its remote workforce.
