Valentine's Day

Love is in the air

The world's greatest love story?
When Lord Nelson was shot at Trafalgar, Europe's most sensational love affair died with him.
Our major exhibition charts the extraordinary life of Emma Hamilton, providing unique insight into the celebrity relationship that shocked society.
See touching love letters that reveal the sincerity of their love, as well as love tokens exchanged between Nelson and Emma - his wife "in my eyes and in the face of heaven".
Like any truly epic love story their lives were not without tragedy, and the exhibition's end reveals the fragility of true love in the face of social convention and public scandal.

Burns Night at Cutty Sark
21 January
Valentine's Day isn't the only celebration we're planning here in Greenwich.
This weekend we're marking the life of the famous poet Robert Burns at Cutty Sark, named after his much-loved Tam O’Shanter.
This film explains our links to the poem, or join us on the night for a rip-roaring ceilidh.
