Covid-19 and your home:
Do we need to be concerned?

 
Everyone is being cautious about exposure to the virus. Information about the virus changes daily. Here are the most recent information about the impacts of the virus on the current real estate market:

*The Federal Reserve has cut the rate to ZERO. LINK HERE for an article from Washington Post. 

*Access to materials for new home construction may tighten which would slow the new construction market. If so, this would be a boon for resale homeowners who want to sell this spring. LINK HERE article 6 Ways The Coronavirus Outbreak will Effect Construction.

*LINK HERE to the National Association of REALTORS Flash survey on March 9-10th regarding the impact of Coronavirus and current economic status on buyers and sellers (in Washington & California)

TIPS FOR OUR CLIENTS:
*Consider cleaning your home after showings. Take standard precautions promoted by the CDC regarding sanitizing and hand washing. Wipe down all knobs and light switches and lamps. Clean the refrigerator handle. Buyers don't usually touch much while viewing your home but a little precaution can't hurt!

*Consider pausing open houses for the time being. We find that if a buyer is serious they will make a private viewing with their real estate agent. This will help limit foot traffic and unnecessary exposure in your home. At Parker & Klein, we hire a  professional photographer to take beautiful and extensive images of our listings. As a result, your home is open 24 hours a day and shown in the best light possible to all potential buyers.
