April 2019 Edition
It's Derby time and guests will be in town. Show them a Louisville they will never forget with these super weird, one of a kind, and funky places around town!
The "Keep Louisville Funky for Your Visitors" Tour
Wax the Colonel: Get the backstory about Colonel Sanders and the best bucket of cluck in the world. Snap a selfie with the man himself, the wax man that is! 301 S. 4th Street  LINK HERE

Giants and Trolls in the Woods: Highbrow and quirky. Take a look at the latest installation in Bernheim Forest by artist Thomas Dambo. Reclaimed wood and amazing talent. Bonus points-bourbon barrels were involved!   LINK HERE

A Tour Of Murals:  Murals set a tone, make a statement and delineate a neighborhood. Here is a list of noteworthy murals that make a statement. Grab a local burger or beer while you are there. Hey- a Bambi Stroll substitute? LINK HERE  More Impressive Murals

The Haunted Cave at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park: Supposedly, the ill treated lunatics at Lakeland Asylum would escape through this area and meet an even worse demise than the asylum. Hard to believe. Today, creepy sightings and recordings are reported. No one finds it creepy that the name of the cave is Sauerkraut Cave?!?!?  LINK HERE

AHH, Jerry's Junk Yard: If you know lower Frankfort, you know Jerry's. It's oh so unofficial. That place where a train car and Buddha and the Statue of Liberty mash up with vintage cars and so much more!!! Across from North End Cafe, this place is worth the stop. How does he get away with all those code violations? LINK HERE  Facebook Info

At the end of this newsletter is a collection of the best ice cream stands in town. If we overlooked one it is completely by mistake since we love love love ice cream. Please give us a shout and let us know if we need to add one to the list!
