Declutter Your Kitchen This Winter
Spending more time cooking? Enjoy the experience!

We are headed into the winter months and COVID is on the rise. It looks like we will be spending more time at home cooking, relaxing, and working.  Home is where the heart is so why not take some time to declutter and make your heart sing? Let's start with the kitchen. For some, spending time in the kitchen cooking can feel like drudgery. If this is you, read on for some great tips on how to make your kitchen a place of inspiration. Shift your experience with a few simple changes. Chances are you will feel more inspired about cooking and your food will taste better. If not, you will have a streamlined kitchen and a head start on tidying up if you decide to list your home in the coming months!

Inventory is still low so if you are thinking of changing your home environment, give us a call. We can help move you toward your goal before the end of 2020.

We at Parker & Klein appreciate each one of our friends, clients, and contractors!
We hope everyone has the best possible healthy and happy Thanksgiving celebration.

It is easier to move through uncertain moments when we stay grounded in what we HAVE instead of what we don't have or might lose. This practice is easier to begin when we start with our own mind & body.
Tips on How To Promote Gratitude

  • Slow down and 3 deep breaths to get centered
  • Begin to notice the things that you DO have and ways you are supported:
    • Arms, legs, feet, lungs (you get the idea)
    • The clothes and food that sustain you
    • The gestures of support from strangers (who show up & work the grocery, bus, pharmacy, library, bank etc). They all support you and make your world work.
    • Support from your family and friends. Yes, there may be lack of support but focus on what they DO for you.
  • Remember the bad times. No matter how bad this moment feels, there was a time that preceded it that felt like the worst ever. Think about how you moved through that and grew from the experience.
  • Focus on how others may be experiencing rough times- maybe situations worse than your own.
  • Reflect on easier times and know that the easy and rough cycle through and this too shall pass
  • Journal - write out your thoughts. It helps to process.
  • Meditate- guided, alone. Whatever! Even if it means just getting quiet for 5 minutes.
  • DANCE or listen to inspirational music.
  • LAUGH!
  • Go for a walk in nature or around the block without electronics.
  • Read a poem or inspiring piece of writing.
  • Get off social media and news apps. Limit exposure and increase positive messaging.
  • Volunteer! Online, in-person anyway to help another person. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture or long term commitment. The act of helping others minimizes our focus on self.
