Happy New Year! I hope your 2017 is full of things you enjoy, people you love... and inspiration! To get you started, I'm sharing three year-end lists that I really enjoyed. I've filed them all for future reference when I'm looking for stories, images, information or ideas to inspire!  Cheers, Deborah
1. Podcasts I consume a ton of podcasts! The 50 Best Podcasts of 2016 compiled by The Atlantic is an excellent list. I especially like that they listed a "gateway episode" and a "banner episode" for each podcast on the list.
2. Photography This collection of 52 images from National Geographic is utterly breathtaking. There is inspiration in the form of color, composition, mood and story-telling. Scrolling through these images will surely make you appreciate how vast, complicated and amazing our world is.
3. Creativity Books My friend Lesley Riley compiled a list of 20 creativity books. I will definitely read some of them in the next year. There are exhibition catalogs, memoirs, poetry, self-help and how-to books on the list. I think this variety means there's something for everyone -- and for a variety of creative endeavors.
I posted my own year end list on my blog. It's all the art quilts I created in 2017. Check out "Eleven Quilts and Some Beetles."
If you love year-end lists as much as I do, you should check out this list of lists!

Studio Update: I'm working on a new art quilt collage. I cut freezer paper stencils, created a handwritten background, gathered fabric and cut out a ladder and some stones. This is a companion piece to Limbs, Ladders, Roots and Rocks. (At the moment, I'm a bit stuck. So it's just on my design wall waiting for inspiration.)

Looking ahead to a new year, I'll be embracing a plentiful spirit... plentiful inspiration, plentiful opportunities, plentiful growth and adventure. I wish the same for you!

From a recent Amazon review: "Boschert's book has plenty of suggestions for further exploration of the principles of design, color and composition. This book is going on the shelf with others I will return to again and again, for information and inspiration. Highly recommend."
