This Sunday at SDFC

This Sunday, we will gather for our worship service in Brown Chapel at 10:30am. In addition, Sunday School classes for kids, teens, and adults will take place at 9am.

Here's an overview of the schedule:

9:00AM: Sunday School Gatherings
- Sojourners Sunday School
  (Ellipse Chapel)
- Open Door Sunday School
  (Youth Room)
- Kid's Sunday School (Children's Building)
- Teens Sunday School (Family Life Center)
- Nursery Open (for ages 0-3)

10:00AM: Sunday Morning Prayer Time
- Weekly Prayer Group
  (Bowes Conference Room)

10:30AM: Worship Service & Children's Church:
- Worship Service (Brown Chapel)
- Children's Church* (Children's Building)
- Teen Bible Study* (Youth Room)
- Nursery Open (for ages 0-3)

*dismissed from Worship Service

From now through December 7, come stop by SDFC on Wednesday nights for a time of community fellowship & learning! We kick off the evening with Wednesday Night Dinners, served in the Friendship Plaza from 5:30-6:30pm. Then, our mid-week programming for kids, teens, and adults takes place from 6:30-8pm.

Wednesday nights offer great opportunities to serve, learn, and connect with other members of our church community. We look forward to having you there!

If you're an adult looking to participate in mid-week church programming, look no further than our Wednesday night Adult U! This Fall, we're offering four classes that will meet weekly from 6:30-8pm for a range of 4-6 weeks. Each class will focus on a different topic relevant to our life of faith and the work of the Church!

Check out the class schedule below and be sure to RSVP to let us know which classes you're most interested in attending to receive reminders & updates:

September 7-28: Habits of Worship: Embodied through Music and More...
September 14-October 19*: How to Talk to Your Kids About ____________

Interested in singing and being a part of choir at SDFC? Mark your calendars for the following dates & opportunities:

Sanctuary Choir
Adult choir rehearsals take place weekly on Wednesdays, 6:30-8PM in the Ellipse Chapel.
Join us for singing and a time of devotions and prayer together.

Joyful Sounds of Christmas

Singers are needed for our annual Joyful Sounds of Christmas Choir! Rehearsals will take place weekly in preparation for our December 4th performances: Wednesdays, 7:30PM in Ellipse Chapel.

Orchestra members are needed as well! Let us know if you play an instrument and are interested in being a part of our Joyful Sounds of Christmas services.

Weekly Events

Don't forget about a number of recurring church events that take place on a weekly basis outside of Sunday mornings:

Sandy Ische leads our Grief Support Group that takes place Mondays from 6:30-8pm. The group is always open to new members!

Come and stop by open gym Pickleball Night happening every other Thursday in the FLC from 6:30-8pm. Bring your own paddle if you can!

Upcoming Pickleball Thursdays: 9/15, 9/29

Every other Thursday, come put your skills to the test and join us for a game of pick-up basketball starting at 7pm in the FLC!

In Our Prayers...

Patty Haley: Patty has asked for prayer on behalf of her friend, Jonna, who has been diagnosed with uterine cancer. Please pray that she recovers well from treatment.
Aileen Scharn: Aileen wishes to thank you for the many prayers lifted to God for her grandson, Jeran Unfried, and family. Goodbyes were said last Thursday night as Jeran was escorted to surgery in regal fashion. His final Celebration of Life was the donation of his organs.
