Matching Grants Make Your Help Do More

The goal of Binc’s assistance is to help bookstores and comic shop owners and staff get back to a financially stable place when they are facing an unexpected emergency, so that they are not in the same position of choosing between critical bills like rent, heat, food and medicine the next month. But sometimes the need is greater than the help Binc can provide with a single grant.

That’s when Binc and a bookseller or comic retailer rely on the power of community. With a Matching Grant, Binc can add up to an additional $2,000 to money the grantee and their community raise. Grantees often raise the funds through a crowdfunding platform, but other kinds of fundraisers can also successfully meet the need.

Thank you to everyone who donated to Binc’s year-end campaign, and everyone who supports the Foundation’s work all year long.

Thanks to you, the campaign exceeded its $100,000 goal, and over 270 book and comic store owners and employees got to hear these words: "Help is on the way!"
