Your generosity and the example set by Penguin Random House inspired Binc's Board of Directors; they are matching EVERY DOLLAR of the next $5,000 in donations towards our year-end goal of $100,000.
Board member Eileen Dengler shares, "Booksellers who need help are calling Binc every day. Help is needed, and given, constantly, and that is because of people like you and me. Binc exists because we donate. Booksellers find relief because we donate."
You can make sure no book or comic seller has to live in their car.
You can make sure no book or comic seller has to worry about losing their apartment.
The housing crisis is getting worse, and it can affect anyone at any time.
This week our program manager heard from
- an older bookseller who learned their apartment building was being sold and they had to move out immediately.
- a young family, including a toddler, currently living in their car as they struggle to find housing.
Despite their situations, they are still at their bookstores every morning to open the doors for their community.
Whether they live in cities or in small towns, the number of book and comic store employees and owners who are facing the loss of their homes or living in their cars is increasing.
Your gift is needed now, and thanks to members of the Binc Foundation board, your gift will be doubled!
