Safe Place Ministries provides biblically based training, truth and support to those impacted by abuse. Christ was not afraid to enter into the most challenging brokenness and with that confidence, neither are we.

SPRING 2021 NEWSLETTER

Greetings from Safe Place Ministries!

Here are some excerpts from a letter we received recently from a client: “It was not long ago that I walked through your doors feeling lost, alone, and unsure of what to do or who I was….I found myself sitting in your office spilling out my story….It was the first time in years that I connected with someone who I felt truly understood what I was going through….I am now in a place where I am relearning to stand on my own two feet”.

It’s encouraging to us to hear stories like hers (and there are plenty of those stories). God is always at work, often in ways we don’t realize, but sometimes in ways that we get to see. It’s because of the power of the gospel, and the new identity it offers.

We’ve been especially busy recently, partly due to the ongoing COVID situation, and partly because the holiday season is behind us.

Explanation:  We are often asked “So is it really busy during the holidays and with the ongoing Covid crisis?”

Although initially that assumption makes sense, you might be surprised to learn that stressful times such as holidays, global pandemics, job losses and the like, don’t immediately result in a flood of people seeking support and help.  The truth is, more often than not, calls slow down as individuals attempt to maintain, pull together and hope it will be possible to unite instead of divide.  It is typically after the initial stressor has passed that we began to see an uptick in calls, people worn out from maintaining, hopes dashed that circumstances will result in a change of actions and heart.

What an honor it is to provide tools, a listening ear, prayer and practical support to weary souls.  As the above letter shows, the love of God resurrects what is dead.  It is enough.

We are full of gratitude that during the last year we have continued to operate this ministry and continue to meet client needs.  Thank you to all of you who have been supporting us in whatever ways you have chosen.

Dave Forrey, SPM Chairman of the Board
