Welcome to Monday Email #19
I've taken a slightly different format today, only two sections and nice and short!
Multiple Strategies for Behaviour
Schools out for the summer in most countries in the northern hemisphere. If you're a teacher, you may want to upskill or are interested in developing your knowledge.
If you're in Ireland and a teacher, I developed this twenty-hour, five-module course in 2017 that will give you a wealth of strategies and theory on the topic of behaviour. It's called "101 Behaviour Transformers" and fully approved to get you your EPV days. I'm also facilitating it so feel free to give it a go and meet me over there.

If you're anywhere else in the world, I recommend my two-hour course called "Social Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties 101". It will give you a new way to view behaviour and a 7 step process to follow to come up with your own solutions. It's a short and snappy course that is packed with value. It's directed mainly at teachers but parents and anyone else interested in behaviour should love it too.

One Thought
I posted recently about Double Bind Messages. This is where you say one thing with your words but do something different with your actions or body language. Sending double-bind messages ruins the impact of what you're trying to say.
A classic example of a double bind message would be if I was to write about stress and the importance of switching off (which I did here), and then was to continue peppering you with emails about behaviour, inclusion and school all summer. This would be ruining the impact of my message. I'd be saying one thing, but my actions would completely conflict with that message.
With this in mind, I'm going to leave your inbox alone for a few weeks and let you switch off, rest and recharge.
Expect me to pop back to your inbox around the third week of August!
Happy holidays and enjoy!
If you have read to this point, you must have found something of note here. I'd appreciate you sharing this email or the contents of it by screenshots, forwarding, social media or any means necessary and send people to www.behaviour101.com to get their own. Thanks for the support.
Behave yourself,
Barry
