Dear Praying Friend,

In case you wondered from the banner above, there aren't many deserts in the Philippines and we don't live in one. About the time you think you've adjusted to one setting, it's time to expand even more! The last few months took us across the globe to minister using the same language but in vastly different areas and needs.
1) Family Conference Outside of Manila
Last month, we were privileged to lead a family conference at a sister church in Bicol. We were deeply blessed to hear the burden and see the tireless, joyful faithfulness of Pastor Brunner and his wife. They read through the Bible every year in Tagalog—truly inspiring dedication!
2) Ministering to Filipinos in the Middle East
When we were invited to speak for an anniversary service in the Middle East, we did not anticipate using much Tagalog. But we met Filipinos everywhere we went! The city has a curious mix of hedonistic excess and Islam; it was simultaneously spectacular and yet empty on the deepest level. A total contrast was the joy of our believing friends, the majority of whom were saved through that ministry. It was refreshing to be with them and to teach mini-sessions on Daniel and Revelation to people so eager to hear the Word of God.
3) Teaching Students Worldwide
Over the past few years, I have been increasingly burdened that someone in SE Asia who wants high-quality, advanced training must move abroad, leaving family and ministry, living in another culture, and incurring massive expenses. And yet many men have personally asked me where they can get more training for preaching and teaching.

In a few weeks we hope to meet that need. I will teach Advanced Biblical Theology along with Dr. Kevin Oberlin and four adjunct professors. Students from twelve countries will interact with us online to study the grand storyline of Scripture. Feel free to join us yourself! I wish I could somehow convey the excitement I’ve heard back from the men here who are signed up to study. Please pray that by God's grace we can see this develop further into a full training curriculum.
The Biblical Theology class is free, and you're welcome to join us. Just click above or acacs.education to sign up. Classes start Jan. 16.
We love what we do here and enjoy staying busy with the endless opportunities—especially regular preaching as well as teaching and counseling. After more than three years, we are settling more and more here as home. Which means it is nearly time to come see you! We look forward to spending time with family and with so many who have faithfully prayed and encouraged. We will be visiting our supporting churches from May 2017 through January 2018.
We look forward to trading out pictures and written words for personal fellowship with you face to face. Thank you again for your support and prayers!
Joel, Sarah,
Jeremy, Zachary,
and Caroline Arnold
