Thank you to Brittany Averette and the team atRefresh Web Designfor providing us with a beautiful new website and logo. We are grateful to the Alliance for Period Supplies for awarding us the Funds for Change grant that made the redesign possible.
Become a Volunteer or Board Member
We're looking for new volunteers and board members!
Sign up on our website if you're interested in volunteering with us. We especially need boots-on-the-ground volunteers to assemble period kits and deliver them to communities in need.
Board positions are also opening soon. More information is forthcoming.
As a menstrual hygiene advocate, you can help supply AFRIpads to young women in Uganda.
Questions About Periods Virtual Event
On November 4th, Sylvia's Sisters President Jennifer Taylor was joined by the Alliance for Period Supplies program director Jennifer Gaines, Dr. Jelisa Timmons of St. Francis Medical Center, and members of the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School Period Club to answer questions about periods from parents and their daughters.
We would like to thank the Pamunkey Regional Library System for sponsoring this informative and engaging event!
Product Distributions
2021 was a busy year! In June, we participated in a food and basic needs drive at the Latinos in Virginia Empowerment Center. We also helped women create their own period kits.
In August, we donated 1,500 pads and 500 liners to a YMCA afterschool program in support of Greenleigh Mobile Home Community in Chester.
Last December, we supplied period products to 200 families at the Food Distribution and Resource Fair hosted by LIVE at Highland Springs High School.
