If you are interested, or have questions about this, please speak with Marilyn.

Meals for College Students

mealsOver the years, Berkey has been a wonderful, welcoming church home for many college/young adult students. One of the highlights for the students is having a meal each Sunday after church. This allows them to get to know our church family in a more informal setting and learn to know a wider range of people. You don’t need to make anything fancy – just a simple meal of food you enjoy making. You can host in your home or at the church, using the church kitchen. You may sign up individually, with someone else or as a small group. Thank you so much for your meals and friendship to our students! A new schedule is ready. To sign up visit the Take Them a Meal site, (username: students; password: bamf).

Stephen Ministry Training

stephen ministriesThis coming week the Stephen Ministry training class will be considering the subject of "Process versus Results in Caregiving". In this presentation they will be learning the difference between their role as caregivers and God's role as Curegiver. We thank God for the continuing dedication of our Stephen Minister trainees and ask your continued prayers for them and for God's blessings upon their ministries.

Pray for Paoli Mennonite Fellowship, Paoli, IN (Rebecca Kauffman, pastor). Pray with them as they reflect this month on their mission and life together in preparation for their annual Covenant service. Pray for ongoing direction and excitement as they submit an application for a matching grant that would enable some new opportunities for faith formation in their youth and congregation.

Pray for Shalom Mennonite, Indianapolis, IN (Brian Bither, pastor). Dagne Assefa, the founding pastor of Shalom Mennonite Church in Indianapolis who served there for nearly 24 years, retired at the end of 2015. Pray for Shalom as they celebrate Dagne's service, grieve his absence, and seek the Spirit's guidance for their future.

Lauren Baer, Laura Haar, Malte Kaliske, Jessica Lindsay, and Pablo Lorenzana make up Mennonite Mission Network’s Service Adventure unit in Albany, Oregon.
