Note From Ron Guengerich
This weekend Ron Guengerich, who is a "coach" for College Mennonite Church (CMC) in Goshen, will be joining one of their pastors, Phil Waite, on a visit to Iglesia Evangelica Menonita Arca de Salvacion in Fort Myers, Florida. The visit is intended to continue strengthening the relationship of CMC with the Florida church and its pastors. Ron will return to the office at Berkey next Wednesday, December 14.
Advent Giving Project
The College Board estimates that the cost of textbooks and supplies for undergraduate students for 2016-17 at $1100 to $1200. Many minority students at Goshen College do not have the funds to absorb this expense. For our Advent 2016 giving project, the Mission Commission will collect money to assist Goshen College minority students who are unable to purchase required textbooks. To contribute funds for this cause please designate your giving in the Berkey offering to “textbooks for students.”
Berkey Christmas Lunch

Bolivian Learning Tour
The Mission Commission is organizing a 10 day MCC learning tour to Bolivia. The possible dates for the tour are either the end of April/beginning of May or the last part of June. This tour will be able to accommodate 8 to 12 people and may include people from Waterford Mennonite Church.

Bethany Christian Schools Alumni Night: Bethany alumni will receive free admission and be eligible for prizes at the boys and girls evening Holiday tourney games on Saturday, December 17. The girls game begins at 6:00; the boys at 7:30. Note, alumni night does not include the morning games of the Holiday Tourney.
Vince Kurtz, a senior at Goshen College and regular attender at Berkey, is presenting his senior violin recital this Sunday, December 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Rieth Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public, and there will be refreshments to follow. You are warmly invited to attend!

Looking for local Christmas gifts? On Monday, December 12, Goshen College art students will host a student art sale starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Union hallway. On December 12-13, Merry Lea will also hold their annual holiday sale bookstore in the Union hallway from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary
You are invited on Sunday, December 11, 3:00 p.m., at AMBS Chapel of the Sermon on the Mount for a the program, Do You Hear What I Hear? Sounds of Advent and Christmas.
Accomplished organist Shirley King of Goshen will perform on the seminary's tracker pipe organ. Shirley has sought to present the organ as an historic, yet contemporary medium for musical expression and describes the organ at AMBS as “an instrument with integrity and beautiful sounds, and specially designed for the AMBS chapel.” A freewill offering for the AMBS Fund will be received at the event.
