Update on MCC Infant Care Kits
Thank you so much for your overwhelming generosity thus far in providing supplies for our newborn kits! We were able to assemble 50 kits last Sunday during nurture hour. Check them out under the tree... it's a wonderful sight! Several of you have asked if we have more specific needs now, or how you can still help. Here are ways we're encouraging folks to continue giving to this wonderful project during the remaining weeks of Advent:
- Donate specific items -- we still need sleepers/gowns and cloth diapers. With additional purchases of just these items, we can complete at least 18 more kits!
- Donate money -- several church members are willing to go shopping for specific items as we need them, to either complete partial kits or make additional ones.
- Donate complete kits -- shop for all kit items yourself, and bring items to church already assembled into a complete kit. (Hats and diaper pins specifically are still available under the tree, as they have been before.)
All of our completed kits will be brought forward by the children during worship during the sixth and final Sunday of Advent. Let's fill the front of the church to overflowing! If you have any questions, please contact Abbe Buller
Note from Mike Genau
I will be volunteering this spring semester with Jubilee Partners in Comer, GA - a faith-based non-profit that serves incoming refugees and advocates for peace. My responsibilities will include teaching ESL classes, assisting in child care, working as a bike mechanic, cooking, tree work, and playing music. All these roles will be continuations of things I’ve kept myself busy with in the Goshen community and I’m happiest when I get to wear a bunch of hats. I also hear there are lots of opportunities for pick-up volleyball and soccer games and so am excited about that… and escaping the cold.
To raise money I will be selling prints of some photographs during fellowship time that I have taken over the past year around Goshen. I’d also be happy to talk with you more about Jubilee and what they do.
While away I can be reached at the following address:
