Model Elementary Announcements
BAMF along with Faith Lutheran and Greene Road Churches are supporting staff at Model School this year. BAMF is furnishing a noon meal for the staff (approx. 70) on Tuesday, August 4 at BAMF. We need several people to help plan, fix, and serve the meal. If you can help with this please, contact Lowell Nafziger
- BAMF has been assigned to collect at least 25 pair of girls underwear, sizes XS/S/M sizes. Bring to the church and place in box by the mailboxes. They would like to have these by August 5.
- We will be furnishing a treat for the staff (70) the months of October, January, and April. These can be individual treats that are placed in their mailboxes or large servings in a bowl or two. We encourage a note attached for the teachers such as: We are praying for you, or a Bible verse, etc. If you would like to do this Lowell Nafziger. This can be done by individuals or groups of people.

A Church Known for Grace, Love and Forbearance
What if a significant number of members of Mennonite Church USA would say we’re sick and tired of being part of a denomination racked by conflict over same-sex issues? No, we’re not leaving, but we want to be part of a different kind of church—a church not shaped by the culture wars. What if we refuse to follow the old Mennonite impulse of splintering to keep the peace, and we also refuse to adopt political means of remaking the church the way we think it should be? Creating a Scene in Corinth
You are invited to six week online course to reclaim Paul's wisdom for leading a conflicted church today. Reta Halteman Finger, PhD offers us the opportunity to take a closer look at 1 Corinthians, a letter written to a group of house churches that had more conflict than any other church Paul planted. This study of Paul's letter will take the form of an online simulation of one house church troubled by factions and social tensions. Each student will role-play a character from a particular faction and will comment on Paul's controversial viewpoints, as well as interacting with the positions of other characters. Among other things, the course will also include a closer look at 1 Corinthians 11 and 14, passages that have historically silenced women. Register today
