It’s so hard to sum up SST in a few sentences, or even a few paragraphs. There were a lot of ups and downs, but overall the experience was incredible and one that I wouldn’t change for the world. The other students in the group were so supportive and we really grew very close through sharing our joys and struggles. Making these sorts of relationships not only with other students but with Peruvian host families and friends, made the entire experience worthwhile for me. Read more
Dan Schrock Sabbatical

Baby Dedication and Shower
On Sunday, May 4, we will be having a baby dedication for Paul Horst during our morning service. Additionally, during the fellowship time (between worship and Christian education), we will have a baby shower for Karissa and Russell Horst in celebration of Paul's arrival. The Fellowship Commission will have blank cards and envelopes available for you to sign at the shower.

MYF Summer Service Trip
You are invited to join the MYF's summer service trip to Colorado! The MYF is looking for several people to join our trip to Jamestown, CO (near Boulder) where we will be working with MDS the week of June 29-July 5. Construction experience is helpful but not necessary. You would be responsible to cover your transportation costs to Colorado but everything else - food, lodging, etc. - is provided for you. This is a great opportunity to get to know some of the awesome youth in our congregation! Talk to Lois Mast if you are interested.

The Annual Spring Gathering of Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Women is at Pleasant View Mennonite Church (58529 CR 23) on May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Brunch will be served, donations accepted. Vacation Bible School
Please consider how you might volunteer to help with Summer Bible School on June 10-13 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. We are in need of many helping hands. Thank you to those who have already filled out and returned the volunteer forms. The green volunteer forms were in your mailboxes and are due to Deb Williams by May 4. There will be volunteer opportunities for youth also available. Also, those families with children ready to turn 4 years - grade six will find student registration forms in your church mailboxes. These will be due by May 25, but are welcomed earlier than that. Also, if you need registration forms for friends, relatives, or neighbors, or with any other questions, please talk to Deb Williams.

Julia Kasdorf Poetry Reading
Award-winning poet Julia Spicher Kasdorf will offer a poetry reading in the College Mennonite Church Koinonia Room on Wednesday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. Kasdorf is an associate professor of English and women’s studies at Penn State University, where she teaches creative writing and oversees the Writer in the Community project. Rieth Chamber Series
Goshen College's Reith Chamber Series features Ft. Wayne Philharmonic Freimann Chamber Ensembles in concert Thursday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Rieth Recital Hall. The concert will feature strings, clarinet, piano and percussion players from the Philharmonic in chamber works by Mozart, Kitzke and Schoenberg. Community School of the Arts Showcase Concert
Goshen College Music Center welcomes you to its Community School of the Arts Showcase Concert Sunday, May 4 at 4:00 p.m. in Sauder Concert Hall. It will feature 100 singers from grades 3-12 in three choirs singing individually and also as a combined choir. Directed by Kristin Kauffman, Sandy Hill and Marcia Yost, the choral selections include classical, folk and gospel repertoire. Also included in this annual spring program is CSA’s featured student soloist Karis Neufeld, performing on flute. Tickets are $7, and $5 for students and seniors. CMU Choir Presentation
Canadian Mennonite University’s Women’s Ensemble and Men’s Octet will perform at 7:30 p.m., April 30, in the Chapel of the Sermon on the Mount at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. John L. Ruth Book Signing
Celebrated Anabaptist-Mennonite storyteller John L. Ruth will be sharing stories and photos from his new book Branch: A Memoir with Pictures

Faith Lutheran Celebration Service
Faith Lutheran Church invites you to celebrate with them as the begin a journey. Faith Lutheran Church is the recent consolidation of First English Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church. Faith will operate as one congregation with two locations for worship and mission in Goshen. On May 4th at 3:00 p.m. there will be a celebration worship service at Faith: Greene Road (202 South Greene Rd, formerly Trinity), including the installation of Pastor John Hickey who has been called as Senior Pastor of Faith Lutheran.
