We wish to thank the congregation for last week's offering. Because of your amazing generosity, the church was able to make its expenses for the general fund and are nearly at 50% of our renovation fund needs. God is good. Read the Fund Raising Team's thank you letter
The Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale is right around the corner and our Penny Power drive continues this Sunday. Pennies are great, but remember you are not limited to pennies! Spare change of quarters and silver dollars adds up much more quickly than pennies. Dollar bills are acceptable, too! Last year the sale had its best year ever with Penny Power raising $50,180 to be used to provide clean, safe and accessible water to people around the world through Mennonite Central Committee and its partners.
Take A Seat
You might not notice right away, but we've added more chairs to the sanctuary to accommodate our higher attendance. When you can, we encourage you to sit in the center of your row so people who come afterward can fill in the ends. Thank you!
Note from Ruth Roth
Berkey Friends: John and I have been held up in a special way by all your love and support these last weeks while I've been caring for my mother, Mattie Miller, in the last days of her life. Your hugs, cards, flowers, food, prayers and words of condolence and encouragement have been so heartwarming. We were particularly touched to have some of you join us for the memorial in Ohio. Mom loved to come to Berkey in the last 20 years when she would visit us. We're blessed to be part of such a wonderful, caring church family.

In this regard, Peace Sunday can be one important stepping stone in helping us hone what to us is an essential part of the way and message of Jesus. MWC has also provided some suggestions for celebrating peace (for 2012, which may be adapted for 2013).
