Spend your Martin Luther King holiday with professional baseball catcher Erik Kratz who will speak at a dinner and host a baseball camp. Erik will share his story, including how he maintained faith and perseverance from his days at Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, Eastern Mennonite University and through a minor league career that began in 2002 before reaching the pinnacle of success—playing with the 2015 World Series champion Kansas City Royals the past two years. The dinner of Kansas City BBQ and ballpark food will be held at Waterford Mennonite Church; gates open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for dinner are $25 for adults ($20 for students) or $200 per table of 10 and may be reserved at Waterford Mennonite Church by email

GriefShare Support Group
Silverwood Mennonite Church will be hosting a GriefShare support group Thursday afternoons, January 7 – March 31, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. GriefShare is a special weekly seminar/support group for people grieving the death of someone close. It’s a place where you can be around people who understand how you feel and the pain of your loss. At GriefShare, you’ll learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life. Registration is $20 and $30 for couples which includes a workbook and supplies. Oaklawn Mental Health First Aid Training
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack - even if you have no clinical training - Adult Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Each program is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and costs $30. Participants receive a certification and a training booklet. Click on the dates below to register.
