Thank you to all the many Berkey volunteers who are helping throughout the week with set up, hosting meals, hosting overnight, and most of all just being a loving, caring presence with our guests in the midst of hard times. If you have interest in helping with any part of our hosting week in the future and would like some information about how you can help, please contact Ruth Roth.

Christians and Immigration Event

What should Anabaptist-Mennonite Christians think about immigration and how should we engage the immigrants who are our neighbors? His approach can help the whole church see how and why we must respond in compassion to the immigrants in our communities. For information contact Eighth Street, 574-533-6720, or cohost Hively Avenue Mennonite Church, 574-294-3423.

In a recent blog post, Overalls and Buggies: Learning about Colony Mennonites, Simon and Becca write, "An interesting part of being a Mennonite here in Bolivia is the confusion from Bolivians about what Mennonite means. To most Bolivians, Mennonite means someone from a colony that wears traditional overalls or long dresses, doesn't drive cars, does not own a cell phone, and speaks Low German. We have had many conversations with Bolivians who have said "you aren't Mennonite" after looking at our modern clothing.Read more.
