Our next congregational meeting is Sunday, November 15, following a potluck dinner. The agenda for our meeting is:
1. Approve minutes of the August congregational meeting.
2. Look at financial reports (the final report for fiscal year 2014-15, and the report for the current fiscal year to date).
3. Hear a summary of what the Spiritual Leadership Team is doing this year.
Multiple situations of crisis around the world such as Syria, Iraq, Gaza and Ukraine have depleted MCC's warehouse inventory of relief kits. During the month of October, you contributed the materials necassary to assemble approximately 25 refugee kits. Thank you for contributing to MCC's effort to respond to the needs of people around the world who have been displaced by war and unstable weather patterns.
The Kennebec potatoes from the church garden are available in the fellowship hall. We are suggesting a $5 donation for each 5 lb. bag of potatoes. On Sunday mornings you can put your money in the container by the potatoes. If you pick up potatoes during the week please place the money in an envelope in James Yoder's mailbox.Thank you for your support!

Host Family Needed
Beginning in January 2015, Bethany is seeking a host family in the community for a sophomore girl from Paraguay who speaks Spanish and German fluently, loves to sing, and enjoys participating in church activities. Host families receive compensation for room and board. Contact Sarah Lind

Bethany Christian Schools will host a drop-in open house 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 8, for anyone considering attending Bethany. Bring your family for a visit in a laid back and friendly atmosphere. A casual lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by registering online

Bethany Christian Schools will perform The Nerd
, a comic play by Larry Shue, on Friday, November 20 through Sunday, November 22. Set in 1979 in Terre Haute, Indiana, The Nerd
is a character-driven comedy suitable for all ages. Tickets may be reserved online
. The cost is $8 for adults; $6 for students. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Participating from our church are Abby Rudy-Froese and Kyle Snyder.
Community School of the Arts Concert
Goshen College Community School of the Arts Showcase Concert featuring the CSA Choirs: Rejoice (conducted by Kristin Kauffman), Shout for Joy (conducted by Sandy Hill), and Sommo Voci (conducted by Marcia Yost) will be Sunday, November 15, 4:00 p.m. at Sauder Concert Hall. Merry Lea Event at Berkey
The Mennonite Creation Care Network Potluck with Todd Wynward is this Sunday, November 8, 5:00 p.m. at Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship. Todd Wynward, author of a new book, Rewilding the Way
, will join interested creation care groups or individuals for food, conversation and visioning. Todd has also been licensed by the Western District of MCUSA as a minister of watershed discipleship and has a vision for a decade-long life change movement. Bring a dish to share.

Soup of Success is having an open house this Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at 907 Oakland Ave., Elkhart. All proceeds from the sales provide wages for women striving for self-sufficiency.
The Window is having a silent auction Friday, November 13 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Live music, gourmet appetizers and a wide variety of items donated by local businesses and friends of The Window make this silent auction the place to be. Admission is $10.00 at the door, and once inside you’ll enjoy sauntering around nibbling on gourmet appetizers prepared by The Window’s Kitchen Administrator, Vi Miller, while listening to musical guest, Ted Yoder. Yellow Creek Mennonite Church invites Seniors to a Tuesday Luncheon, November 17, at noon. $5.00 per person is due at the door. The Goshen Community Chorale, under the direction of William Mateer, will be presenting its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, November 21st, at College Mennonite Church. The program will feature the Bach cantata "Gottes Zeit ist Die Allerbeste Zeit," to be accompanied by an instrumental ensemble, and a selection of sacred music and folksongs from Russia and the Slavic countries of eastern Europe. There is no admission charge and all are welcome to this community event.
